PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jesus Christ Karter (ranked 276 p4p, 271 weight class) and Prohor Georgiev (ranked 41 p4p, 39 weight class). Georgiev has chosen Oxxxymiron - City under the sole as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Prohor Georgiev acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jesus Christ Karter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Prohor Georgiev!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karter throws a body punch but Georgiev moves out of range.
Georgiev shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Karter but Karter pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Karter throwing a counter right hand but Georgiev manages to avoid it.
Georgiev loads up on a big right hand but Karter slips the punch.
Karter was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Georgiev shoots in and gets a takedown into Karter's guard.
Georgiev wants to control from the top but Karter keeps moving.
Georgiev not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Georgiev got a little sloppy there for a moment and Karter has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Georgiev has managed to get both his arms back between Karter's legs - danger averted.

Georgiev feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Karters jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close second round but I would say that Jesus Christ Karter will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Karter cracks Georgiev with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Georgiev uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Karter.

Georgiev needs to keep his hands up - Karter had a free shot at his head there.

Karter is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Georgiev is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Prohor Georgiev comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Georgiev has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
