Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 26 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Thierry Paulin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pauke Murhapuro! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paulin throws a body shot but no joy. Paulin misses with a hook. Paulin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Murhapuro. Murhapuro slips a jab from Paulin. Murhapuro is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Murhapuro blocks a head kick by Paulin.
Murhapuro thinks about the counter body kick. Paulin has been working on his boxing with his coaches at House of 1000 Corpses in the buildup to the fight. Paulin scores with a kick to the midsection. Paulin takes a swing at Murhapuro's ribcage but misses. Murhapuro moves into range and clinches up with Paulin. Murhapuro has a couple of punches blocked by Paulin.
A short right from Murhapuro. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Paulin scores with an uppercut up the middle. Murhapuro drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Murhapuro manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Paulin not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Murhapuro is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Paulin wants to get up but he can't break Murhapuro's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Paulin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Paulin stopping the sweep attempt from Murhapuro. Murhapuro had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Paulin defends it easily. Murhapuro looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Murhapuro is looking to cinch up a triangle. Paulin throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Murhapuro's body to avoid the submission. Murhapuro has instead reached around Paulin's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Murhapuro arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
