Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Lee (ranked 2994 p4p, 4087 weight class) and Corey Baird (ranked 291 p4p, 366 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Corey Baird!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baird throws a jab but it's blocked by Lee.
Baird moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Baird fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lee manages to avoid it.
Baird is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Baird takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Baird throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Baird, as that shot connected.

Baird stands and steps away. Lee gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Baird drops his hands momentarily and Lee takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Baird uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lee.
Lee's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Baird connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Lee scrambles back to his feet.

Lee is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Baird throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Lee sees it coming and avoids it easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

I was talking to Lee's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

John Lee overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Lee goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Baird has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Lee but great work by Baird.
Corey Baird is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Lee has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Baird stands up and waves to Lee to follow him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Lee takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Baird digs a good body shot into Lee's ribs.

Lee looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Baird is fending him off so far but Lee persists. Nope, Baird circles away and we're back to standing.

I've got Baird winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
