Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Billabong (ranked 2303 p4p, 2509 weight class) and Thiago Filho (ranked 280 p4p, 305 weight class). Billabong comes to the cage accompanied by Waltzing Matilda. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny Billabong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thiago Filho!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Filho fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Filho closes the distance and clinches up with Billabong, looking for a takedown. Filho pushes Billabong against the cage but Billabong circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Billabong drives through with a takedown into guard.
Filho keeping moving, preventing Billabong from controlling successfully.
Filho seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Billabong is pressing down on Filho's thigh, looking to free his foot. Filho is holding on for now.
Filho felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Billabong tries to pass to full mount but Filho defends it.
Billabong is working for a kimura but Filho is defending it quite comfortably.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Filho dives in for a single leg takedown but Billabong sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Filho shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Billabong but Billabong pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Billabong half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Billabong has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Billabong in particular looking to stall.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Filho gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Billabong stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Filho swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Filho stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Billabong throws up his legs and catches Filho in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Filho tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Billabong! That came out of nowhere!

Johnny Billabong tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
