Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Arturo Del Torro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sam Salter!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Phil Schofield and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Del Torro scores with a nice head shot.
Salter misses with a takedown
and Del Torro cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Salter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Del Torro tries to avoid it but Salter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Del Torro to the ground. Del Torro escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Salter looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Del Torro is fending him off so far but Salter persists. Nope, Del Torro circles away and we're back to standing.
An attempted straight right counter from Del Torro misses the target.
Arturo Del Torro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Salter.

Salter manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Del Torro on his heels. He'll look to pass Del Torro's guard now, I'm sure.

Salter drops back looking for a leg! Del Torro is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Del Torro manages to kick Salter off! Salter jumps back into Del Torro's guard.
Del Torro has control of Salter's left arm, preventing Salter from doing any damage.
Del Torro on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Del Torro tries to get out of the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Salter trying to control the position from guard on top but Del Torro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Salter tries to free his leg and advance position but Del Torro is retaining full guard.
Del Torro is pulling down on Salter's head. It's preventing any offense from Salter, at least for the moment.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Salter wants to control from the top but Del Torro keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Del Torro jabs Salter right on the nose. Salter blinks but takes it well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Salter with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Del Torro to score with a decent uppercut.
Salter misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Del Torro scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Del Torro lands with a hook. Salter tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Del Torro connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Salter's hands.

Del Torro feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Salter sprawling to the canvas! Salter rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Del Torro finish him?!

Salter is rocked!
Arturo Del Torro is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Del Torro missing with a left hand there. Salter was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Salter is still on wobbly legs! Can Del Torro finish him?
Salter shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Del Torro but Del Torro pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Salter seems to have recovered his senses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Del Torro cracks Salter with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Salter tries for a takedown but Del Torro circles away easily
and Del Torro scores with a counter punch that sends Salter to the canvas! Del Torro smells blood - he's punishing Salter with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Salter has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Arturo Del Torro!
An out of breath Arturo Del Torro thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
Sam Salter was interviewed post fight and said 'I think I'll just go kill myself now.'.
