Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Warren Spade (ranked 2722 p4p, 3072 weight class) and Freddy Banks (ranked 384 p4p, 445 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Warren Spade!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Freddy Banks!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banks fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Banks looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Spade is fending him off so far but Banks persists. Nope, Spade circles away and we're back to standing.

Banks has taken the fight to the clinch.
Banks is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Spade is defending well.
Warren Spade has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Freddy Banks.

Banks breaks the clinch.
Spade throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Banks.
Banks shoots in looking for a takedown but Spade manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Banks's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
It looked like Spade was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Spade instigates a clinch.
Banks has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Banks lands a shot to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Banks tries to pull guard but Spade forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Spade is trying to pull guard but Banks turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Spade is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Banks to keep the fight standing.
Spade is pressed up against the cage. Banks has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Spade down to the mat. Spade avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Banks throws a nice looking combination but Spade bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Spade tries to clinch but Banks moves away
and Banks makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Banks tries a head kick but it misses.
Spade is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Spade shoots in and bounces Banks off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Banks has control of Spade's left arm, preventing Spade from doing any damage.
Spade wants to control from the top but Banks keeps moving.

Banks working for a triangle but Spade defends it easily.
Spade pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Banks is keeping the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Spade not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Banks is trying to keep Spade in close.
Spade throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Spade stands and throws Banks's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Banks manages to work his way to half guard, despite Spade's best efforts.
Spade tries to pass the half guard into mount. Banks knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Banks is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Spade slows the pace down in half guard.
Spade lands strikes from half guard.
Banks trying to hold on to Spade's head to control him but Spade postures up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Spade is looking to take a break and control but Banks is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Warren Spade will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Banks shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Banks moves away from the strike by Spade.

Spade has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Banks after a bit of a struggle.

Spade gets control of Banks's arms and successfully pulls guard. Spade will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Banks postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Spade has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

and Banks connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Spade shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Banks manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Warren Spade overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Spade shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Banks's guard.

Spade is looking to counter the offense by Banks and move into the clinch.

Spade scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Banks is staying active underneath Spade, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Banks is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Spade scores with a couple of nice shots.

Spade seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Banks does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Warren Spade.
I think Spade has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
