Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jake Damien!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Patrick Watt!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Daniel Franklin and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Damien fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Damien shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Watt as he jumps to the side.
Damien tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Watt defends well and Damien ends up having to push Watt into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Damien. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Damien tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Watt lands with a short shot to the head.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Watt looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Watt breaks from the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Watt listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Damien shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Watt but Watt pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Watt swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Watt throws a predictable looking body shot
and Damien counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Damien tries to free his leg and advance position but Watt is retaining full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Damien trying to control but Watt is working from the bottom.
Watt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Damien. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Watt wants to sweep here but Damien controlling him for the moment.
Damien drops back looking for a leg! Watt is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Watt manages to kick Damien off! Damien jumps back into Watt's guard.

Damien in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Watt tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Damien!
