The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson throws a lazy uppercut
and Nelson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Nelson's coach down at SMASH Training was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Nelson's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
A shot to the liver by Blank. Beautiful body shot.
Nelson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
As Nelson looks to move away, Blank throws a big counter combo but Nelson just gets out of the way.
Nelson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Blank could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Nelson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Blank defends it nicely.

and Blank counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

and Blank counters with a three punch combo that has Nelson backing up. Nelson nods at Blank to acknowledge the strikes.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tim Nelson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Blank counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Nelson to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Blank!
