Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Verneri Ahma (ranked 84 p4p, 182 weight class) and Aramis Knox (ranked 11 p4p, 21 weight class). Knox is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: You're Going Down | Sick Puppies. On his way into the cage it seems that Verneri Ahma has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Verneri Ahma seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Aramis Knox!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Francis DeMontford and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Ahma 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Ahma throws a body punch but Knox moves out of range.
A little jabbing left from Knox on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Knox fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ahma with a jab.
Knox misses the jab.
A right-left combo lands from Knox.
Ahma needs to keep his hands up - Knox had a free shot at his head there.
Knox has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Knox there as he acknowledges the shot.

Ahma rushes Knox and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Knox blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Knox blocks a body shot from Ahma.
Knox lands a nice shot to the body.
A head punch on the inside from Knox fails to land.
Knox lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Ahma prevents Knox from breaking the clinch.
Knox's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Knox blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
That's one minute gone in the round.

Knox fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
We've been hearing reports that Ahma has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Knox breaks the clinch.
Ahma walks into a left hand.
Knox keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ahma scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Knox manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Knox works his way to full guard. Good work.
Ahma throws an elbow that misses. Knox uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ahma's guard. Nice move by Knox!
Ahma wants to sweep here but Knox controlling him for the moment.
Knox stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Ahma has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Knox manages to get his head free but now Ahma has transitioned to an armbar! Knox grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Ahma! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Verneri Ahma!

After winning the bout, Verneri Ahma thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
