PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Midick Aiken (ranked 263 p4p, 276 weight class) and Sergey Objedkov (ranked 14 p4p, 15 weight class). Aiken comes to the cage accompanied by N.W.A - Straight Outta Compton. Sergey Objedkov will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 14 - 4, fighting out of St Petersburg, Midick Aiken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergey Objedkov!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Taro Takaoka and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Objedkov gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Aiken.
Aiken throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Objedkov sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Aiken throws a quick inside leg kick.
Aiken throws a lazy right hand but Objedkov sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Objedkov throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Aiken stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Objedkov shoots in for a takedown but Aiken shows good takedown defense.
Objedkov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Aiken.
A chopping leg kick lands by Aiken.
Objedkov throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Objedkov scores with a punch to the head.

Objedkov shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Aiken is looking to improve his position.

Objedkov is trying to work for a kimura but Aiken is defending well.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Objedkov working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Objedkov thows a huge punch but Aiken dodges it nicely.

Aiken is looking for a sweep. Objedkov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Objedkov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Aiken doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Objedkov.

Objedkov wants to work for an arm triangle but Aiken is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

We've been told by Aiken's head coaches at No Stepchild - No Entrance that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

The crowd cheers as Objedkov lands an impressive looking overhand right. Aiken doesn't seem phased though.
