Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Takeshi Yuudai (ranked 759 p4p, 1298 weight class) and Jobber Joe (ranked 46 p4p, 82 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Takeshi Yuudai!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jobber Joe!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Michael Johnstone and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe jabs at Yuudai's body.
Joe connects with a nice looking jab.
Yuudai shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Joe as he jumps to the side.
Yuudai takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Joe scores with a jab to the body.
Joe circles away from the clinch attempt
and Joe counters with a right hand to the body.
Joe dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Yuudai takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
A shot to the liver by Joe. Beautiful body shot.
Joe lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Joe has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Yuudai misses with a takedown
and Joe counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Joe's corner calls for a 1-2. Joe obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Yuudai on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Yuudai takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Yuudai slips a jab and a cross from Joe.
Joe is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Joe punishes Yuudai's body with a nice straight punch.
Joe lands with a nice combination. Yuudai backs away looking to recover.

Yuudai gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Joe counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Yuudai thinking.
Yuudai has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Takeshi Yuudai. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Yuudai scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Still in half guard, Yuudai seems content to control.

Joe is looking for a sweep. Yuudai is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Yuudai takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Joe tries to roll over but Yuudai keeps him under control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Yuudai is trying to control the action in half guard but Joe is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Joe can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Yuudai shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Joe counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Yuudai thinking.
Yuudai shoots for a double leg takedown but Joe sprawls well. He's pushed Yuudai's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Yuudai shoots in but no luck this time.
Joe unleashes a big counter combination but Yuudai bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Joe scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Joe is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Yuudai rather than just go for the knockout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Yuudai shoots in but no luck this time.
Yuudai takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Joe bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Yuudai's head backwards.
Yuudai takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Joe cracks a nice hook into Yuudai's ribs.
Yuudai is trying hard to land a takedown here. Joe sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Joe, as that shot connected.
Joe lands a body shot.
Joe has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Yuudai tries to clinch but Joe moves out of range.
Joe stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Yuudai shoots for a double leg takedown but Joe sprawls well. He's pushed Yuudai's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A jab from Joe finds it's way through Yuudai's defenses.
Yuudai takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Yuudai takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Joe bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Yuudai's head.

and Yuudai takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Yuudai doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Yuudai is breathing heavily.
Joe moves into range and connects with a jab.
Yuudai misses with a takedown
and Joe counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Yuudai thinking.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Yuudai is rocked!
Joe lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Oh Yuudai is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Joe lands with a right that hurts Yuudai. Yuudai looks to clinch but Joe throws a short knee that drops Yuudai. This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch and Knee). Jobber Joe!
Jobber Joe is the new bantamweight champion!
An out of breath Jobber Joe thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
