Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Terrance Harris (ranked 5251 p4p, 5679 weight class) and Okuda Hoshiko (ranked 566 p4p, 584 weight class). Terrance Harris has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Terrance Harris! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Okuda Hoshiko! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harris is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hoshiko. Hoshiko tries to clinch up but Harris circles away and keeps his distance. Harris pushes Hoshiko up against the cage in a clinch. Harris struggles to land a body shot inside as Hoshiko controls his hands.
Harris lands a nice uppercut. Hoshiko lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

I was talking to Harris's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Harris is trying to break the clinch but Hoshiko is controlling him. Hoshiko connects with a nasty looking knee right to Harris's face.

Harris pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Harris throws a body shot but no joy. Hoshiko tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Harris paws at him with a jab and circles away. Good work by Harris as he checks the leg kick. Hoshiko tries a head kick but it misses.
Harris changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Hoshiko tries to close the distance and clinch up but Harris swats him away and circles back towards the center. Hoshiko clinches up with Harris and pushes him back against the cage. Hoshiko with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Harris sizes up Hoshiko with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hoshiko doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Hoshiko has taken the fight to the clinch.
Harris manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

That was a close round but I would say that Terrance Harris will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Terrance Harris's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Harris slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Harris fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Harris changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Harris feints and then cracks Hoshiko's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hoshiko down. Harris swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hoshiko wants to clinch. Harris throws a low kick, looking for Hoshiko's leg but Hoshiko calmly moves out of range. Hoshiko fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Harris, pushing him back against the cage. Hoshiko looking to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harris tries a body shot but Hoshiko blocks it.

It looked like Harris was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Hoshiko. Hoshiko wants to clinch up but Harris keeps it at a distance. Hoshiko on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Harris connects with a right hand. Hoshiko shakes it off. Hoshiko checks a leg kick. Harris misses with a wild body shot. Harris throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hoshiko stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Harris lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Hoshiko has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Hoshiko and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Hoshiko is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

And that's the end of the fight! Terrance Harris showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Harris, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
