Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Warren Spade (ranked 2827 p4p, 2626 weight class) and Trevor Gamble (ranked 429 p4p, 397 weight class). Warren Spade could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Trevor Gamble's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Warren Spade! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Trevor Gamble! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spade sizes up Gamble with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Spade is defended easily by Gamble. Gamble darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Spade has one foot on Gamble's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jab by Gamble. Spade moves to clinch but Gamble breaks away and Gamble counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Spade! Spade is looking to get back to his feet here but Gamble is keeping cool and he's managed to take Spade's back. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Spade is really stuck here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gamble has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Spade's body.
Spade looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Spade has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Gamble looking to hold on to the position here but Spade rolls and ends up regaining guard.
Gamble decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Spade fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spade misses with the combination.
Gamble throws a counter combo. Gamble instigates a clinch. Gamble gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gamble passes into side control, despite Spade's attempt to control the position.
Gamble moves into full mount! Gamble throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gamble controlling the position easily from mount. Gamble is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Spade has managed to escape the submission attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gamble trying to control but he's not successful this time. Spade is looking to get to half guard. Spade tries to hold on but Gamble pushes him away. Gamble controlling from the full mount. Spade wants to hold on but Gamble pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Gamble misses with a head shot. Spade is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Gamble thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Spade is squirming around, avoiding Gamble's attempts to control the action. Gamble content just to control the position here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gamble throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Spade closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Gamble wants to stand back up but Spade manages to pass into side control.
You can see the frustration on Gamble's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Gamble tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Spade wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Spade has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Spade misses with a takedown attempt - Gamble sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gamble shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Spade is looking to stand back up but Gamble counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Spade. Trevor Gamble has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spade keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Nice strikes from Gamble there. Gamble keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Spade wants to control but Gamble is keeping busy.
Gamble wants to take a breather but Spade is having none of it. Gamble wants to pass the guard but Spade is defending well. Gamble thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gamble is keen to just control but Spade is a slippery customer. Still in half guard, Gamble seems content to control. Gamble is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Gamble throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Gamble is working for a kimura but Spade is defending it quite comfortably.
Gamble is trying to control. Spade wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spade is trying to control but can't.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Spade tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gamble swivels and escapes. Gamble throws a nice looking combination but Spade bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Gamble feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Spade uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Warren Spade is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Spade fails with the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Warren Spade. That's going to take a lot out of him. Spade shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gamble is trying to defend but Spade finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. This has been an exciting period of action! Gamble gets full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Spade is looking to stand up but Gamble won't let him. Gamble working for a triangle but Spade defends it easily.

A close second round but Trevor Gamble will probably get the nod - 10:9. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round! Spade tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gamble manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Spade is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gamble's half guard. Gamble pushes Spade off looking to stand but Spade dives back in and keeps control.
Gamble manages to escape and get back to his feet! Gamble fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Spade to the ground. Gamble is now in Spade's guard. Spade has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Gamble off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. This has been an exciting period of action! Gamble shoots in and drives through. Spade sprawls well. Gamble fails in his attempt to clinch. Gamble looks for a takedown but Spade sprawls well. Spade closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spade tries for a kimura but Gamble is defending well. Spade landing strikes. Gamble is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Spade is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Gamble is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Spade has hold of Gamble's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Gamble manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Gamble sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spade is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Spade moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Gamble has worked his arm free - good work by Gamble!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Gamble is trying to control Spade's posture but Spade avoids it. Gamble tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Spade wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Spade landing strikes. Spade is looking to take a break and control but Gamble is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gamble struggling a bit here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Gamble parries the strikes from Spade easily there. Spade is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Gamble to escape.
Gamble wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Gamble is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Spade off and has taken his back! Gamble really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Spade. Spade is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Warren Spade has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Trevor Gamble is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Spade is in bad spot here.
And that's the end of the fight! Warren Spade showed his dominance in that final round. Well Gamble has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
