Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruna Faria (ranked 4267 p4p, 6586 weight class) and Dave Kongo (ranked 544 p4p, 706 weight class). Dave Kongo has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Bruna Faria's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bruna Faria!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dave Kongo!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Faria fails to land with a series of punches.
Faria looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Kongo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Faria sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Kongo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Faria.
Faria wants to clinch.
Kongo with a body punch. A glancing blow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Faria checks the leg kick nicely there.
Kongo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Faria swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Faria shoots in for a takedown but Kongo shows good takedown defense.

Kongo dives in and grabs Faria's left leg, looking for a takedown. Faria pushes down on Kongo's head and hops out.
Faria throws a counter high kick but Kongo was just alert enough to avoid it.
Kongo shoots in for a double leg but Faria sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Faria tries to counter with a takedown but Kongo is quick to defend against it.
Faria stuffs the takedown attempt from Kongo. Kongo gets slowly back to his feet.

and Kongo counters with a three punch combo that has Faria backing up. Faria nods at Kongo to acknowledge the strikes.
Faria has been working on his balance at SISU Fight gym, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Kongo.
Kongo wants to clinch.
Faria shoots in but Kongo avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Kongo moves into the clinch.

Kongo looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Kongo is trying to pull guard but Faria has him pressed against the cage.
Faria crunches a lovely knee into Kongo's ribcage.
Kongo wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Kongo prevents the takedown attempt.
Kongo jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Faria walks away with a smile on his face. Kongo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Kongo wants to break the clinch but can't.
Faria is looking to control Kongo's arms but Kongo gets an underhook and turns him. Now Faria has his back to the cage.
Kongo is looking for a takedown.

Faria pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kongo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Faria.
Kongo shoots in and bounces Faria off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

It looks like Kongo might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Kongo is looking to stand up but Faria won't let him.
Kongo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Kongo wants to pass the guard but Faria is keeping the position.
Kongo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Faria. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kongo seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Kongo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Kongo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Kongo wants to stand but Faria has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard.

Faria went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Kongo fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Faria counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Faria closes the distance and clinches up with Kongo, looking for a takedown. Faria pushes Kongo against the cage but Kongo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kongo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Faria tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Faria is looking for a sweep. Kongo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Faria tries to roll over but Kongo keeps him under control.
Kongo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Faria knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kongo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Kongo seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Faria throws a big counter combination but Kongo scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Kongo changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Faria fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Kongo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Faria manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kongo leaves Faria with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Faria shoots in looking for a takedown. Kongo tries to sprawl out of it but Faria keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kongo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kongo goes for a double leg but Faria avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Faria continues to drive forward.

and Faria counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kongo won't be happy with that.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bruna Faria will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Faria takes the fight into the clinch.
Faria is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kongo pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Kongo is trying to pull guard but Faria turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Kongo wants to break free but Faria has control.
Faria keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Kongo's efforts to push away.

Faria turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Faria manages to end up in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Faria throws an elbow but Kongo slips to the side and avoids it well.
Kongo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Faria wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Faria tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Faria has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Kongo is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Faria sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Kongo is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Faria is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Kongo is tapping out! This one is all over!
