Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Antony (ranked 2928 p4p, 3851 weight class) and Gorgi Boran (ranked 393 p4p, 495 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mark Antony! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gorgi Boran ! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Sam Margolis and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boran gets a clinch. Antony lands a hook to the side of the head. Antony trying to stall but Boran improves his position.
Antony breaks the clinch.
Gorgi Boran seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A punch combination from Boran misses. Boran gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Antony counters with a nice uppercut. Boran tries to clinch there but Antony circles away.
A little feinted left hand from Antony on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boran fails in his attempt to clinch. Boran tries to clinch but Antony is having none of it. It looked like Antony was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. We've been told by Antony's head coaches at Takeda Clan Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Boran has Antony up against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Antony pushes Boran back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Antony misses with the head strike.

A short right from Antony. Antony working some nice short punches in the clinch. Antony is working Boran over against the cage. Antony effectively controlling the action here. Boran 's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Boran blocking some punches.
Boran tightens his grip and picks Antony up, before dumping him to the ground. Antony manages to land in guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Antony wants to sweep here but Boran controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boran trying to control the position from guard on top but Antony is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Antony pulls Boran in to control the position. Antony keeping moving, preventing Boran from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Antony looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Boran is stalling in the full guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Boran fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boran shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Antony sprawls well. Antony wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Boran gets slowly back to his feet. An attempted straight right counter from Antony misses the target. Boran moves to clinch but Antony breaks away and Antony counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Boran swinging wildly here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Antony thuds his shin into the meat of Boran 's side. Boran misses with a combination
and Antony counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Boran fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Mark Antony has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gorgi Boran . Boran shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Antony as he jumps to the side. Antony was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Boran shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Antony cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Mark Antony dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Boran shoots for a double leg takedown but Antony sprawls well. He's pushed Boran 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Boran tries to clinch but Antony moves away and Antony counters with a lovely straight right hand! Boran fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Antony to the ground. Boran is now in Antony's guard. Antony utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Antony wants to sweep here but Boran controlling him for the moment. Antony seems keen to control Boran 's posture. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boran preventing the sweep. Boran wants to control from the top but Antony keeps moving. Antony pulls Boran in to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boran trying to control but Antony is working from the bottom. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Boran wants to clinch up but Antony keeps it at a distance. Boran tries to clinch up. Boran tries to clinch but Antony moves out of range. A little feinted left hand from Antony on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Boran with a lazy takedown attempt and Antony counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Antony fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A jab from Antony misses. Antony takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Mark Antony has been cut. Boran closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Antony tries to buck Boran off but Boran is having none of it. Boran controls the position. Antony tries to bench press Boran off him but Boran keeps the position. Boran working the ground and pound but Antony is defending the strikes. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Antony is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boran throwing shots but missing, from side control. Boran throws an elbow but Antony slips to the side and avoids it well. Antony is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Boran can do to turn this around? Boran wants to control but Antony is keeping him busy. Antony is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Boran 's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Boran prevents Antony from improving his position. Antony is working hard here to advance position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Boran wants to work for an arm triangle but Antony is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Boran tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Antony is positioning himself well to prevent Boran advancing to mount. Boran thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Antony is trying is best to control the position here. Antony is trying to control but can't.

The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round! Boran tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Antony counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Boran avoids a kick to the body.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Antony. Antony swings wildly with an uppercut but Boran uses good head movement to avoid it. Boran wants a takedown but no success here.

Boran closes the distance but Antony moves to the side and Antony counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Boran drives through and clinches with Antony against the cage.

Antony has a couple of punches blocked by Boran .
Antony tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Boran 's elbow. Boran breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Boran throws a hook to the side of Antony's head but Antony sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Boran with a nice calf kick. Jab, jab by Antony - just one landing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boran is looking to clinch but Antony is avoiding it.
Antony throwing a counter right hand but Boran manages to avoid it. Boran shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Antony eats them both and turns towards Boran to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Gorgi Boran is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A combination from Antony does no damage. Boran scores with a three punch combo!

Antony went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Boran works over Antony's head and body with a nice combination.

Antony was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Antony swings for the body but Boran moves out of range.
The fighters circle momentarily. Antony darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Boran tries to clinch but Antony moves out of range. Boran lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Mark Antony's cut is getting worse. Boran fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Antony to the ground. Boran is now in Antony's guard. Gorgi Boran has got the better of the ground game so far. Antony pushes Boran off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Boran fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Antony is looking to counter punch.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mark Antony. I think Antony has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
