PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Mvarre (ranked 6256 p4p, 22997 weight class) and Jingky Bacolod (ranked 585 p4p, 633 weight class). Bacolod has chosen Havana as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jingky Bacolod!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mvarre is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bacolod.
Mvarre misses with a head kick.
Mvarre looks to land a right hand but Bacolod moved out of range.

Bacolod moves into the clinch.
Bacolod goes for a takedown attempt but Mvarre pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Bacolod blocks a jab.

Mvarre gets caught flat footed, as Bacolod shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Bacolod throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mvarre works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Bacolod stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mvarre swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bacolod slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Bacolod advances to mount.
Mvarre is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Mvarre is in a horrible position here. Bacolod smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

It looks like Pierre Mvarre has been cut.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bacolod get's back to his feet.
Mvarre swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Bacolod counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Bacolod wants a takedown but no success here.

Bacolod has hold of one of Mvarre's legs. Mvarre is fighting the takedown attempt but Bacolod gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Bacolod is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Bacolod is looking to work some ground and pound but Mvarre has wrist control.

Mvarre wants to sweep here but Bacolod controlling him for the moment.
Bacolod is pushing down on Mvarre's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mvarre is fighting to maintain full guard but Bacolod has managed to sneak the leg through.

Bacolod thows a huge punch but Mvarre dodges it nicely.
Mvarre is trying to get back to full guard.
Bacolod has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Bacolod is taking a breather. Mvarre says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Bacolod seems to be working for a kimura but Mvarre defends the submission attempt.

Bacolod decides to return to a standing position.

Bacolod closes the distance and clinches.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Bacolod has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Mvarre is trying to keep an underhook but Bacolod manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Bacolod looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
