Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jobber Joe (ranked 351 p4p, 718 weight class) and Takeshi Yuudai (ranked 20 p4p, 43 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jobber Joe!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Takeshi Yuudai!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Sandra Marshall and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donk. Joe catches Yuudai right on the button with a cross.
Yuudai is looking to clinch but Joe is avoiding it.
Yuudai looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Yuudai takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Takeshi Yuudai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yuudai wants to clinch up but Joe keeps it at a distance.
A little feinted left hand from Joe on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Yuudai manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Joe on his heels. He'll look to pass Joe's guard now, I'm sure.
Yuudai not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Yuudai drops back looking for a leg! Joe is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Joe manages to kick Yuudai off! Yuudai jumps back into Joe's guard.
Joe looking for a sweep. Not yet Joe, not yet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yuudai controlling from the top position.
Yuudai throws a big right hand that misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yuudai is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yuudai wants to control from the top but Joe keeps moving.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Yuudai tries to free his leg and advance position but Joe is retaining full guard.

Yuudai is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Yuudai wants to control from the top but Joe keeps moving.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Joe lands a nice looking body shot.
Jobber Joe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Joe takes a swing at Yuudai's ribcage but misses.
Yuudai looks to clinch
and Joe counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Yuudai is looking to clinch but Joe is avoiding it.
Yuudai tries to clinch up.
Joe lands with a right hand.
Joe is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.

Yuudai feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Joe can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Yuudai controls the pace.
Yuudai trying to control but Joe is working from the bottom.
Yuudai wants to pass the guard but Joe is keeping the position.
Yuudai content to stall in guard here.
Joe will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Yuudai wants to control from the top but Joe keeps moving.
Joe on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Joe tries to get out of the position.
Yuudai won't allow Joe to sweep him here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Joe misses with a body shot.
Yuudai takes one to the side of the head.
Yuudai on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Joe is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Yuudai moves into the clinch.
Yuudai tries to stall but Joe uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Joe tries a body shot but Yuudai blocks it.
Yuudai jumps guard but Joe turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Yuudai pulls guard effortlessly.

Yuudai has his foot on Joe's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Joe works his way back into a safe position though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Joe controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Yuudai escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Joe gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Yuudai working for a triangle but Joe defends it easily.

Yuudai has his foot on Joe's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Joe works his way back into a safe position though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Yuudai is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Joe looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Takeshi Yuudai will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Yuudai takes the fight into the clinch.

Yuudai jumps guard.
Joe knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Yuudai on the ground.

Yuudai had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Joe defends it easily.
Joe is stalling in the full guard.
Joe trying to control but Yuudai is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yuudai is trying to keep Joe in close.

Yuudai is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Joe wants to control from the top but Yuudai keeps moving.
Yuudai is adopting a defensive guard.

Yuudai working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Joe doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Yuudai is tightening it up a little... Joe has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Joe reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Joe taps out! Nice BJJ there by Yuudai!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Takeshi Yuudai!

After winning the bout, Takeshi Yuudai thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
