Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Zach Smith (ranked 3099 p4p, 3057 weight class) and Pedroca Altamiro (ranked 435 p4p, 429 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pedroca Altamiro!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Altamiro dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Smith. That did some damage!
Smith displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Altamiro throws out the jab.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch but Altamiro swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Altamiro's corner calls for a 1-2. Altamiro obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Altamiro swats away the attempt to clinch by Smith.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Altamiro sprawls well. Altamiro wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.
Altamiro misses with a straight left.
Smith lands with an overhand left.
Altamiro throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Altamiro lands with an uppercut that bounces Smith off the cage and back into range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Altamiro makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Smith instigates a clinch.
Altamiro is trying to push Smith away but Smith has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Smith manages to break the clinch.
No luck for Smith with that takedown attempt.
Smith looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Altamiro stuns Smith with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Altamiro lands a big right hand that sends Smith crashing to the mat! Altamiro stays standing though and waves Smith back to his feet!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Smith counters with a one-two to the body.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Altamiro lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Smith has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Smith and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
It looked like Smith wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Smith takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Pedroca Altamiro is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Altamiro takes a kick to the side of the head.
Smith throws a low kick but Altamiro avoids it.
Altamiro throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Smith moves out of range of the strikes.

Smith has Altamiro up against the cage in a clinch.

Smith using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Altamiro has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Crunch! Altamiro slams his shin into Smith's torso.
A telegraphed right hand from Altamiro misses the target.

Altamiro manages to break the clinch.
Smith slips a jab from Altamiro.
Smith ducks under a wild hook from Altamiro.
Smith shoots for a takedown but Altamiro saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zach Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Altamiro.
Altamiro stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Pedroca Altamiro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fighters circle momentarily. Altamiro darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Smith is rocked!
Smith ducks under a wild hook from Altamiro.

Smith has taken the fight to the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Smith gets through Altamiro's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Altamiro escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Altamiro cracks Smith with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Smith looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Altamiro finish him?
Oh Smith is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Altamiro connects with a body shot.
Smith switches off momentarily and Altamiro cracks him with a monster right hand! Smith topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Altamiro dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Altamiro!
