Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sinjin Mouser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonny Grove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sinjin Mouser has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sinjin Mouser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jonny Grove!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Valeri Chadov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grove shoots for a double leg takedown but Mouser sprawls well. He's pushed Grove's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Mouser rushes Grove and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Mouser throws a knee to the head but misses.

Mouser gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Grove is trying to maintain the position but Mouser is very close to passing his half guard.

Mouser moves into range and clinches up with Grove.

Mouser gets underhooks to prevent Grove's takedown attempt.
Grove goes for a takedown attempt but Mouser pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Mouser gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Grove is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Grove jumps guard but Mouser stands there with Grove around his waist. Grove gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Grove has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mouser can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Grove has his foot on Mouser's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mouser works his way back into a safe position though.
Mouser has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Grove is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

and Mouser counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Grove!
Grove wants to control but Mouser is having none of it.
Grove can't escape the position.
Grove wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Mouser controlling the position well here. Grove rolled but Mouser kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
You can see the frustration on Grove's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mouser is looking for a rear naked choke here but Grove reverses the position brilliantly into Mouser's guard!

Grove isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Mouser stacks Grove on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Mouser!
You can see the frustration on Grove's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Grove might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mouser kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Mouser decides to stand up, so the ref orders Grove to his feet.

Grove jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mouser walks away with a smile on his face. Grove gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Mouser has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Grove regains guard immediately.
Grove is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Grove looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Mouser has picked Grove up and slammed him! Grove can't keep hold of the triangle and Mouser manages to pass to side control!

Mouser stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Mouser tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Grove paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Mouser counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Mouser.

Mouser ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mouser no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Grove drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mouser manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Grove has Mouser in his guard.

Grove had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Mouser is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Grove Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Mouser's back instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mouser is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Grove wants to pass the guard but Mouser is defending well.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Grove has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Mouser doesn't defend quickly enough and Grove has managed to lock this one up! Can Mouser escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Grove on a fantastic submission victory.
