Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Beta Knox (ranked 1517 p4p, 1304 weight class) and Barnabas Ungar (ranked 209 p4p, 180 weight class). Knox comes to the cage accompanied by Anthrax | Fight Em Till You Can't. Ungar comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Wolf Totem kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Beta Knox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Barnabas Ungar!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knox stuffs the takedown attempt from Ungar. Ungar gets slowly back to his feet.
Ungar tries to clinch but Knox moves away
and Knox counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Knox shoots for a takedown but Ungar saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Knox throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Ungar moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Ungar swings widly with a right hand
and Knox counters with a straight right hand.
Knox misses with a wild body shot.
Ungar throws a head kick that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A slow jab from Knox misses its intended target.
Ungar thinks about the counter body kick.
Ungar throws a right and a left that both miss.
Knox blocks the body kick.
Ungar wants to clinch.

Ungar misses with a left hand
and Knox connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Ungar closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Knox wants to control but Ungar postures up.
Ungar misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Knox sneaks back into half guard.
Knox tries to get to full guard but Ungar has control of the leg.
Ungar thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Knox's head.

Knox tries to roll over but Ungar keeps him under control.
Ungar works his way into full mount!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Ungar cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Knox wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Ungar.

Ungar goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Knox turns into him and now he's in Ungar's guard.
Ungar has his hands on Knox's head, controlling the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Knox got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ungar has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Knox has managed to get both his arms back between Ungar's legs - danger averted.
Knox tries to free his leg and advance position but Ungar is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ungar looking to control but Knox passes into half guard.
Knox lands with a punch from half guard.
Knox wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ungar keeps working.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Knox sitting and controlling from the half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Knox prevents Ungar from improving his position.
Ungar wants to control but Knox is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Ungar keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Knox wants to take a breather but Ungar is having none of it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ungar has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Knox is working away from the top position though.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Beta Knox will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Ungar throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Knox.

It looks like Beta Knox has been cut.
Knox shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Knox throws a poor cross that misses
and Ungar counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

and Knox counters with a stiff right hand.
Ungar is trying hard to land a takedown here. Knox sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Ungar rushes Knox and presses him up against the cage.
Knox is trying to push Ungar away but Ungar has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Knox takes a shot to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ungar pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Ungar gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Ungar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Knox throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Beta Knox is winning the standup battle so far.

Knox shoots in for a takedown but Ungar shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ungar throws a counter combo.
Ungar has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Ungar looks for a takedown but Knox sprawls well.

Ungar closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Knox wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ungar has him pressed against the cage.
Knox is trying to break free.

Knox escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Knox circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ungar takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Knox swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Knox cracks Ungar with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Ungar looks for a takedown but Knox sprawls well.
Beta Knox has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Barnabas Ungar.

Ungar uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Knox.

Ungar drives through with a takedown into guard.
Knox wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Ungar is now in half guard.
Ungar is trying to control the action in half guard but Knox is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ungar frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Knox can't escape the position.

Ungar swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Knox is now in Ungar's guard. A big mistake from Ungar there, giving up the dominant position!

Knox controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Knox wants to pass the guard but Ungar is keeping the position.
Ungar looking to hit a scissor sweep but Knox is one step ahead there.

Ungar looking for a triangle here. Knox is fighting it but it looks tight! Ungar pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Knox is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Barnabas Ungar!
Barnabas Ungar bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
In defeat, Beta Knox stepped up to the mic, saying '"If you haven't lost in this sport, you haven't fought the right guys yet." (Matt Hughes) '.
