Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Soap Aandn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kip York!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
York stuffs the takedown.
York swings for the body but Aandn moves out of range.
Aandn appears to be looking for a big counter.
York throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
York throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
York throws a leg kick but Aandn checks it.

York gets in close and instigates a clinch.

York turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Aandn sneaks out the side door and pushes York away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Aandn gets cracked there but stands up to it.

York has Aandn up against the cage in a clinch.
York lands a nice knee to the body.
York has Aandn pushed against the cage.

York ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. York no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

York is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

York has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Aandn is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for York.

York throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

York throws a leg kick but Aandn moved away.
York lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

York changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
York throws a head kick that misses.

York closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
York lands a nice knee to the body.

York jumps guard.
Aandn trying to stand up but can't free himself from York's guard.

York throws his legs up looking for a submission but Aandn uses it to pass to side control.
York tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Aandn presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Aandn is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

York misses with a kick to the body.
Aandn shoots in looking for a takedown. York tries to sprawl out of it but Aandn keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. York manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

York pushes Aandn up against the cage in a clinch.
Aandn is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but York is defending well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Soap Aandn. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Aandn misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Aandn tries to pull guard but York holds him up against the cage and eventually Aandn drops back down to his feet.
York lands an elbow that stopped Aandn in his tracks for a moment.

York gets control of Aandn's arms and successfully pulls guard. York will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

York looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Aandn passes into side control.
York is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Aandn's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Aandn looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

York makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

York throws a head kick but Aandn moves out of range.
York lands a nice shot to the body.
Aandn fails to land the takedown.
York ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Aandn tries to keep at a distance but York has taken the fight into the clinch.
York is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
York's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
York gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Aandn.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

York pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

York has taken the fight to the clinch.
York taking a breather.
York controlling the action here for a moment.

York has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Aandn clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

York is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Aandn knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Aandn for a finish.
Kip York has got the better of the ground game so far.
Aandn trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Aandn tries to escape but York has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

York keeps control of the position as Aandn tries to break free.

York is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Aandn is defending well though. York let's go of the attempt for now.
York is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Aandn. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.

York is persistently looking for the submission but Aandn is defending it well.

York is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Aandn is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Aandn is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Kip York showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

York is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Aandn has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
York tries to get the hooks in deep but Aandn pushed the leg off.

Aandn tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
York landing strikes from the mount.

York swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Aandn is now in York's guard. A big mistake from York there, giving up the dominant position!

Aandn gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Aandn feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

York throws a head kick but Aandn moves out of range.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

York fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Aandn looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
York cracks Aandn with a right hand to the side of the head.
York lands with an overhand left.
Kip York seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Aandn looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Soap Aandn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
York fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Aandn on the side of the head.
York defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Aandn.
York digs a good body shot into Aandn's ribs.
Kip York is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Aandn keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

York has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

York had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Aandn defends it easily.

York escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Aandn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kip York comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well York has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
