Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Connor Vera (ranked 4667 p4p, 4496 weight class) and Vicious Frank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Frank misses.
Frank swings for the body but Vera moves out of range.
Vera feinted with a counter takedown.
Frank throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Vera counters with a shoot takedown. Frank fights it but they end up in guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vera's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vera is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Vera closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Frank to the mat! Frank manages to get full guard.

Vera got a little sloppy there for a moment and Frank has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vera has managed to get both his arms back between Frank's legs - danger averted.

Frank has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vera can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Frank can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Vera controls the pace.

Frank is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Vera is aware though and is defending well.

Frank working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vera doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vera manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Vera is stinking the place up with his stalling.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

Frank has his foot on Vera's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vera works his way back into a safe position though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Frank manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Vera manages to get himself to full guard.

Frank drops Vera with a naaaaasty hook - Vera is in real trouble here! Frank dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
