Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between jeff quaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Burton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fred Burton is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, jeff quaker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Fred Burton!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Glass and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
quaker tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Burton swivels and escapes.

quaker gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Burton successfully pulls guard.
Burton looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
quaker won't allow Burton to get back to his feet.
quaker advances to half guard.
quaker will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
quaker throwing shots but Burton is blocking nicely.
Burton is controlling quaker's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Burton wants to control but quaker is keeping busy.

quaker is working for a kimura but Burton is defending it quite comfortably.
Burton regains full guard. Nicely done.
Burton is looking to stand up but quaker isn't so interested in that idea.

quaker thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Burton wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

quaker shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. quaker showed some decent athleticism there.
quaker is breathing heavily.

quaker is working for a kimura but Burton is defending it quite comfortably.
quaker tries to pass the half guard into mount. Burton knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

quaker is working for a submission of some sort.
Burton is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of quaker's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take quaker's back!
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Burton throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting quaker!
Burton just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

quaker covers up after that shot from Burton.
Burton lands a shot to the head.

Burton working for a choke but quaker is defending well.
quaker is covering up but some of the strikes from Burton are getting through and doing damage.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Burton. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Burton has quaker flattened out and is raining down punches.
Burton lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Burton is hanging on to quaker's back as he tries to escape.
I would not like to be quaker right now.
Burton scores with punches from the back.
Burton throwing damaging strikes from the back! quaker could be in trouble here!

Burton biding his time, looking for the opening.
Burton connects with a big shot to the side of quaker's head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

quaker is working hard here to advance position.
Burton lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fred Burton dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Burton cracks quaker with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
BOOM! Burton connects with a massive shot to the dome!


It looks like jeff quaker has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Burton postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. quaker looks a forlorn figure.

Burton is landing with some decent strikes but quaker is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Burton can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as quaker is looking to escape.

Burton takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Burton is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, quaker has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Burton has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

quaker is squirming around, avoiding Burton's attempts to control the action.
quaker keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Burton lands a heavy elbow.
The referee warns quaker that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Burton lands with some vicious ground and pound - can quaker hang on?

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fred Burton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on jeff quaker's cut.
That's time! quaker's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



quaker gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

quaker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Burton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Burton is in close to quaker's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Burton slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
quaker keeping moving, preventing Burton from controlling successfully.
Burton is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Burton seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Burton trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Burton drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Burton jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Burton wants to control from the top but quaker keeps moving.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Burton throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
jeff quaker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
quaker gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Burton counters with a takedown into side control.

quaker is not content to let Burton control the position.

Burton thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
quaker tries to improve position but can't.
Burton cracks quaker with an elbow. That is naaassty.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Burton has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Burton avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Burton drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Burton jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
quaker wants to control but Burton passes easily into half guard.
Burton is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Burton prevents quaker from improving his position.
jeff quaker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Fred Burton is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
