Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Goku Okaza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Honda Yamaha!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Taro Takaoka and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okaza missing with a left hand there. Yamaha was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
And Yamaha tries to counter it with a takedown but Okaza pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Okaza slaps away a takedown attempt from Yamaha, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Okaza swings widly with a right hand
and Yamaha counters with a one-two to the body.
Yamaha slips a jab from Okaza.
Yamaha shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Okaza pinned against the cage. Okaza gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Yamaha throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Okaza's waist but Okaza gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Yamaha off to one side.
Goku Okaza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Honda Yamaha.
A telegraphed right hand from Okaza misses the target.
Okaza misses with a straight left.
Yamaha has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Okaza is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Okaza jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Okaza swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yamaha on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Yamaha looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Yamaha slips under a jab.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Okaza darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Yamaha's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Okaza before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Goku Okaza!
During a confident post fight interview, Goku Okaza thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
