PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Walter Mason (ranked 3034 p4p, 3738 weight class) and Titus Wilder (ranked 415 p4p, 489 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walter Mason!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Titus Wilder!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Valeri Chadov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason with a poor takedown
and Wilder counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Mason thinking.
Mason tries for a takedown but Wilder circles away easily
and Wilder makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Mason tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wilder swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Wilder looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Mason fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Wilder to the ground. Mason is now in Wilder's guard.
Wilder is wriggling around but Mason manages to pass to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
