This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 11 wins and 9 losses; Joe Gatsby!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Seu Braga and Alexandre Firmino.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Conforto clinches up with Gatsby and pushes him back against the cage.

Conforto has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gatsby is working away from the top position though.

Gatsby told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Conforto tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Conforto has control of Gatsby's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Gatsby regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Conforto is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Gatsby to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Gatsby shrugs it off.

Conforto is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Gatsby is surviving well by controlling Conforto's body position as best he can.

Conforto looking to isolate an arm here. Gatsby doesn't see it coming and as Conforto extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Conforto!

A less than humble Billy Conforto misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
