Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ben Askrew (ranked 892 p4p, 519 weight class) and Sergey Vinogradov (ranked 128 p4p, 80 weight class). Ben Askrew is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ben Askrew!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergey Vinogradov!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Glass and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Askrew takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Vinogradov lands with an overhand left.
Vinogradov pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Askrew back to the cage. Vinogradov follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Askrew defending well as Vinogradov loads up on a big left hand.
Vinogradov throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Askrew changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Askrew moves away from the strike by Vinogradov.

Vinogradov is looking to control Askrew's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Vinogradov avoid being mounted?

Askrew drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Askrew jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Askrew has gone for a leg lock! Vinogradov slips out almost immediately though and dives into Askrew's guard.

Askrew has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vinogradov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Vinogradov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Askrew does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Vinogradov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Askrew is just riding it out for now. Vinogradov eventually gives up the hold.

Vinogradov is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Askrew has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Vinogradov is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Askrew to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Askrew shrugs it off.

Vinogradov has hold of Askrew's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Askrew manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Askrew manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Askrew is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Cope's that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Askrew got a little sloppy there for a moment and Vinogradov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Askrew has managed to get both his arms back between Vinogradov's legs - danger averted.

Askrew drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Vinogradov manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Askrew has Vinogradov in his guard.

Sergey Vinogradov decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
