The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ousmane gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Ries counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Ousmane swings for the body but Ries moves out of range.
Ries looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Ousmane looks for a takedown but Ries sprawls well.
Ries looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
Ousmane tries for a takedown but Ries circles away easily
and Ries connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kofi Ousmane. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ousmane tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ries defends well and Ousmane ends up having to push Ries into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Ries presses Ousmane against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Ousmane throws a nice looking combination but Ries bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ries lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Ousmane dives in for a single leg takedown but Ries sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Ries breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Ries lands a big head kick that sends Ousmane tumbling to the mat! Ries takes a step backwards and waves Ousmane back to his feet - he wants the finish!
