PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Agustin Garcia (ranked 2981 p4p, 4282 weight class) and Jesus Valle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valle has chosen Faraon Love Shady - Mi Cunumi as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jesus Valle!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Valeri Chadov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick from Valle lands but Garcia takes it in his stride.

It looks like Agustin Garcia has been cut.
Garcia will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Garcia gets tackled into the cage by Valle. Valle maintains the clinch.

Valle jumps guard and drags Garcia to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Valle holds on and takes a little breather.
Garcia could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Valle working for submissions but it's allowed Garcia to get to half guard.
Valle keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

Valle is looking for a sweep. Garcia is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Garcia wants to lay and pray for a moment but Valle keeps working.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Valle connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Garcia tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Garcia closes the distance and clinches up with Valle, looking for a takedown. Garcia pushes Valle against the cage but Valle circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Valle is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Valle throws a one two combo.

Valle throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Garcia was covering up waiting for the punch and Valle finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Valle must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Garcia is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Valle has his hands clasped together around Garcia's back. He's all about the action.

Valle is continuing to stall.
Garcia is trying to control. Valle wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Valle kicks off Garcia and gets to his feet.

Garcia darts in and clinches Valle up against the cage.
Valle lands a nice shot to the body.

Valle breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Valle clinches up with Garcia and pushes him back against the cage.

Valle gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Garcia regains guard.
Valle won't allow Garcia to sweep him here.
Garcia is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Garcia is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Garcia thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Valle stays in close to Garcia's body and controls the position.

Valle has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Valle stops a takedown attempt from Garcia.
Garcia wants a takedown.

Valle's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Garcia takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Garcia changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Valle tries to avoid it but Garcia manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Valle to the ground. Valle escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Valle closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Garcia's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Valle is stalling in the full guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Valle goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Valle throws a series of strikes that have Garcia backpedaling.

Garcia gets a clinch.
Garcia tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Valle avoids it.

Valle has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Garcia regains guard immediately.

Valle stands up from Garcia's guard - Valle perhaps looking for a knockout.

Garcia moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Valle gets to his feet. Garcia looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
A solid leg kick lands there for Valle.
Valle lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Garcia at a distance.

Valle clinches up with Garcia and pushes him back against the cage.
Valle prevents the takedown attempt.

Garcia tries to pull guard but Valle won't allow it.

Garcia wants to get up but he can't break Valle's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Garcia wants to stand but Valle is controlling his posture from full guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Valle manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Valle has Garcia pushed against the cage.
Nice body punch from Valle - that landed with a thud.

Valle is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Garcia defends well.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Valle can do anything to dispel that myth.
Garcia slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Valle sneaks out the side door and pushes Garcia away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Well Valle has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
