Pokorney kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Never Gonna Give You Up. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jacob Pokorney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Steven!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Radbod Blank and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steven takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

It looks like Jay Steven has been cut.
Pokorney tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Pokorney tries to clinch up but Steven circles away and keeps his distance.
Steven lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Pokorney looking to score a takedown here. Steven is defending well but Pokorney drives through and ends up in Steven's guard.
Pokorney sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Steven's guard.
Steven on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Steven is trying to stand up here but Pokorney is controlling him well.
Pokorney really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Steven wants to control but Pokorney passes into side.
Steven is letting Pokorney control him for a moment.
Pokorney has control of an arm but Steven manages to advance to Pokorney's back!

Pokorney breaks Steven's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Pokorney controlling from the top position.
Pokorney is in close to Steven's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Pokorney thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Pokorney is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Pokorney content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Pokorney has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Pokorney is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Pokorney has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Steven wants to hit a sweep here but Pokorney passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Steven there!
Pokorney has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pokorney looking to finish Steven with some ground and pound. This is bad for Steven!
Pokorney content just to control the position here.
Steven tries to hold on but Pokorney postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pokorney lands a big elbow.
Pokorney is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Steven can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Steven is rocked!
Steven wants to hold on but Pokorney pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pokorney looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Steven covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jacob Pokorney!
Jacob Pokorney decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
