Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 23 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mitsugu Takeishi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Giannis Leonidas! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Leonidas swinging wildly here.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Leonidas - that will leave a mark!
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Takeishi moves out of range as Leonidas throws a body kick.
Takeishi moves into the clinch. Takeishi throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Leonidas looks winded! Takeishi lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Leonidas backwards.
It looks like Giannis Leonidas has been cut. Takeishi stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Takeishi lands a body shot. Takeishi lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Leonidas backwards. A left hand lands to the body for Takeishi.
Takeishi lands a body punch. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Takeishi creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Leonidas is rocked! Takeishi lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Leonidas is still on wobbly legs! Can Takeishi finish him? We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Takeishi lands a body punch in the clinch. Takeishi unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Leonidas! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Takeishi is unloading with more strikes now! Leonidas drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mitsugu Takeishi! A relieved looking Mitsugu Takeishi thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
