Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Da Silva Jr with that takedown attempt.
Socks misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Socks throws a hook but Da Silva Jr avoids it easily.

Da Silva Jr scores with a takedown into Socks's guard.

Da Silva Jr drops back looking for a leg! Socks is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Socks manages to kick Da Silva Jr off! Da Silva Jr jumps back into Socks's guard.

Da Silva Jr has gone for a leg lock! Socks slips out almost immediately though and dives into Da Silva Jr's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Socks won't allow Da Silva Jr to sweep him here.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Da Silva Jr is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Socks wants to stand and escape but Da Silva Jr is having none of it.

Da Silva Jr drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Socks manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Da Silva Jr has Socks in his guard.

Socks wants to pass the guard but Da Silva Jr is keeping the position.
Socks is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Da Silva Jr working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Socks doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Socks manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Da Silva Jr is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Socks is looking to improve his position.

Rafael Gomez Da Silva Jr spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
