Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyler Knight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Troy Nyugen!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knight changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nyugen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Nyugen tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Knight is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Nyugen can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Nyugen wants to hold on but Knight pushes him away.
Nyugen holds on to Knight around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks.
Nyugen is looking to improve his position but Knight isn't that keen on the idea.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Knight is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Nyugen has managed to escape the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Knight is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Nyugen has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Nyugen!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nyugen drops back looking for a leg! Knight is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Knight manages to kick Nyugen off! Nyugen jumps back into Knight's guard.
Knight is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Nyugen has his hands clasped together but Knight extends and breaks Nyugen's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Knight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Tyler Knight!
An out of breath Tyler Knight thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
