Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steven Adefemi (ranked 2339 p4p, 2116 weight class) and Leonardo Nascimento (ranked 300 p4p, 270 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Nascimento's choice of entrance music: Jiu-Jitsu, Arte Suave Milenar . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nascimento wants to clinch
and Adefemi counters with a straight right hand.

It looks like Leonardo Nascimento has been cut.

Nascimento drives through and clinches with Adefemi against the cage.
Nascimento is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Adefemi gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Nascimento has Adefemi pressed against the cage, preventing Adefemi from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Adefemi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Steven Adefemi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leonardo Nascimento.
Nascimento shoots in for a double leg but Adefemi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nascimento takes the fight into the clinch.

Adefemi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Nascimento tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Adefemi smiles and moves away.
Nascimento throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Adefemi's waist but Adefemi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nascimento off to one side.
Adefemi was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

and Adefemi scores with a counter punch that sends Nascimento to the canvas! Adefemi smells blood - he's punishing Nascimento with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Nascimento has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Steven Adefemi!
Steven Adefemi was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
