Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ashraf Ali (ranked 4625 p4p, 4579 weight class) and Tim Riggins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ashraf Ali! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tim Riggins! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Taro Takaoka and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ali gets in close and instigates a clinch. Riggins drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ali pulls his leg out and moves away.
Ashraf Ali seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ali misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Riggins slips a jab and a cross from Ali.
Ali throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Riggins was covering up waiting for the punch and Ali finishes the takedown easily into guard. Riggins looking to control.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ali's corner. There ya go! There ya go! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Riggins being controlled here, momentarily. Riggins looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ali showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Ali has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Riggins is proving hard to escape from. Ali is looking to work some ground and pound but Riggins has wrist control. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ali stays in close to Riggins's body and controls the position. Riggins working a defensive guard here.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Ali scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Riggins parries the strikes from Ali easily there. Ali is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Riggins to escape.
Riggins is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Riggins is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Ali's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Riggins wants to control but Ali is keeping busy.
Riggins is looking for a sweep. Ali is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ali is thwarting Riggins's attempts to control the position.

Riggins wants to control but Ali is keeping busy and won't allow it. Riggins wants to sweep but Ali has passed to side control! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Riggins wants to control but Ali postures up. Riggins might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ali haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Ali scoring with punches and elbows.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Riggins takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Riggins is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ali has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Ali throws a head kick but Riggins moves out of range.
Riggins will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ashraf Ali dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Riggins will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ali is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Riggins can do to turn this around? Riggins looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Ali tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Riggins manages to circle out of the way. Riggins gets caught flat footed, as Ali shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Riggins controlling Ali's posture. Ali stopping the sweep attempt from Riggins. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Riggins is still trying to improve position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Riggins controls Ali momentarily but Ali frees himself. Riggins thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Riggins keeping full guard, as Ali tries to pass. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Ali is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Riggins is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Riggins has escaped and now he's on top!
Ali really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Ali working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Riggins doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Riggins manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Ali is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Riggins trying to control the position from guard on top but Ali is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ali knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Riggins on the ground.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Riggins checks a low kick from Ali. Riggins shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ali but Ali pushes him off and we're back to square one. Ashraf Ali has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Riggins. Excellent takedown into side control there by Ali. Riggins regains half guard. Ashraf Ali overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Riggins trying to hold on to Ali's head to control him but Ali postures up.

Riggins wants to get back to full guard. Riggins is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ashraf Ali dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round! Ali throws a low kick, looking for Riggins's leg but Riggins calmly moves out of range. Ali throws a wild body kick that Riggins sees coming a mile off. Ali wants to land a leg kick but Riggins is out of range. Ali has closed the distance and engaged Riggins in a clinch.

Riggins wants to control from the top but Ali keeps moving. Ali is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ali is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Riggins trying to control but Ali is working from the bottom. Ali trying to strike off his back.
Riggins looking to sit in guard and control but Ali gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Riggins lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Riggins pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ali is keeping the position for now. Tim Riggins has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Riggins trying to control but Ali is working from the bottom. Riggins throws a big right hand that misses. Ali keeping moving, preventing Riggins from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Ali fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Riggins to the ground. Ali is now in Riggins's guard. Ali is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Riggins has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Ali is looking to defend but Riggins has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Ali! Riggins pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Ali taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Tim Riggins! In his post fight interview, Tim Riggins started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
