Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kazuo Imanari (ranked 210 p4p, 1000 weight class) and Clam Licker (ranked 24 p4p, 118 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Imanari might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to 吉田兄弟 Rising. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 15 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Kazuo Imanari! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Clam Licker! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Andrew Berry and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Licker being controlled against the cage. Licker is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Licker being controlled against the cage. Imanari manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Imanari has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Licker is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Imanari. Licker tries to stand but Imanari is controlling his head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Imanari manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Licker can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Imanari wants to advance to full mount but Licker doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Imanari seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Licker wants to stand but Imanari is controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Imanari thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. That's three minutes gone in the round. Imanari is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Licker knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Imanari tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Imanari has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Imanari is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Licker has escaped the position, nice work there. Imanari tries to move to mount but Licker blocks the move with his legs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Imanari wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Licker, who protects the arm well. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Licker is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Imanari tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Imanari wants to control but Licker is keeping him busy. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Kazuo Imanari dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Licker displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Licker moves into the clinch. Licker breaks from the clinch.
Licker drives through and clinches with Imanari against the cage.

Licker moves into range and clinches up with Imanari. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Imanari is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Licker to keep the fight standing. Imanari pulls Licker into guard.
Imanari has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Licker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Licker gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Imanari fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Licker lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Licker comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. The fight moves into the clinch position. Licker's coach down at Count Dante's Deadliest Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Licker's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Imanari takes a shot to the head. Licker blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Licker lands with a right to the head. Imanari ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Imanari no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Imanari looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Licker wants to stand but Imanari is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Licker gets to his feet - Imanari follows without any prompting. Licker closes the distance and clinches. Licker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Imanari swings for the body but Licker moves out of range.
Licker throws a counter combo. Licker looks to land a left hand but Imanari moved out of range nicely. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Licker keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Imanari ducks right into an uppercut from Licker. Licker throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Imanari moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Licker lands with a straight right. Imanari didn't see that one coming. Licker throws a right hand that misses
and Imanari moves into the clinch. Licker has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Imanari stalling.
Licker is trying to break the clinch but Imanari is controlling him. Licker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Licker looks to land a combination but Imanari avoids it well. Sloppy strikes from Licker. Those never looked like landing. Clam Licker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Imanari clinches up against the cage. I was talking to Imanari's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Licker lands a hook that snaps the head of Imanari backwards. Imanari trying to control the position but instead, Licker has worked for underhooks and has pushed Imanari into the cage. Imanari gets control of Licker's arms and successfully pulls guard. Imanari will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Imanari looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Licker got a little sloppy there for a moment and Imanari has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Licker has managed to get both his arms back between Imanari's legs - danger averted. Imanari has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Licker should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Imanari has tightened it up now! Licker should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
