Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Gorichov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kai Svenson!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Svenson shoots in but Gorichov avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Gorichov is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Svenson dives in and grabs Gorichov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gorichov pushes down on Svenson's head and hops out.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Svenson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gorichov tries to avoid it but Svenson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gorichov to the ground. Gorichov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gorichov is looking to counter with head kicks.
A nice inside leg kick there by Gorichov. That's going to slow Svenson down.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Gorichov wants to stand but Svenson is controlling his posture from full guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gorichov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
