Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Blank!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rob Sapo!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sapo moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Blank's jab looks to have found its range, popping Sapo under the eye.
Blank throws a looping overhand right but Sapo ducks down to avoid it.
Blank staying out of range there.
It looked like Blank wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Sapo scores with a body shot.
Blank misses with a right hand
and Sapo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Sapo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Sapo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Sapo won't allow Blank to sweep him here.
Sapo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Blank. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Blank is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Blank lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Blank postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blank throws a big right hand that misses.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sapo can do anything to dispel that myth.
Blank working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Blank wants to pass the guard but Sapo is keeping the position.

Sapo looking to control.
Sapo might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Blank haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Blank stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sapo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Blank missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Blank with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Sapo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Blank scoring with some ground and pound.
Blank postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Sapo working for a triangle but Blank defends it easily.
Blank won't allow Sapo to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sapo has an active guard here but Blank has managed to pass into half guard.
Blank looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sapo with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Sapo felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Sapo is rocked!
Blank really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Blank lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Sapo! More strikes land and this one is all over! Blank jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Billy Blank!
A very excited looking Billy Blank made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
