Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Juan David Franco (ranked 1469 p4p, 6031 weight class) and Daigo Tsuikiyama (ranked 218 p4p, 680 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Juan David Franco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Daigo Tsuikiyama!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jonathan Paton and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tsuikiyama looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Franco scores with a jab to the jaw.
Tsuikiyama lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Franco circles away quickly and effectively.
Franco missing with a left hand there. Tsuikiyama was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Tsuikiyama fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A left and a right from Tsuikiyama both land. Nice combination.
Franco looks to throw the jab but Tsuikiyama is out of range.
Tsuikiyama wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Tsuikiyama walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
The fighters circle momentarily. Franco darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Franco scores with a crisp jab that stopped Tsuikiyama in his tracks.
Franco bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Tsuikiyama's head.
Franco fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Tsuikiyama.
Tsuikiyama looks to land a combination but Franco avoids it well.
Franco uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tsuikiyama.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sloppy strikes from Tsuikiyama. Those never looked like landing.
Franco dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Tsuikiyama. That did some damage!

It looks like Daigo Tsuikiyama has been cut.
Tsuikiyama misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Franco.
Franco smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Tsuikiyama takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Franco throws a leg kick which misses Tsuikiyama's front leg but catches the back leg as Tsuikiyama tries to avoid it.
Franco scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
It looks like Franco has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Tsuikiyama throws a right hand that Franco ducks under and follows up with a left that Franco also avoids with ease.
Franco dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A lazy left from Franco finds it's target.
Franco is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Franco jabs Tsuikiyama right on the nose. Tsuikiyama blinks but takes it well.
Franco connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Tsuikiyama's hands.
Franco is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Tsuikiyama ducks right into an uppercut from Franco.
Franco thuds a left hand into Tsuikiyama's body.
Tsuikiyama's coach down at Cozad MMA Tokyo was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Tsuikiyama's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tsuikiyama walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Tsuikiyama is rocked!
Tsuikiyama ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Franco uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Tsuikiyama is still on wobbly legs! Can Franco finish him?

Tsuikiyama thows a left - swing and a miss!
Tsuikiyama seems to have recovered his senses.
Tsuikiyama rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Franco moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Franco scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Franco digs a good hook to Tsuikiyama's body.

That has opened up Daigo Tsuikiyama's cut even more.
Franco lands a nice shot to the body.
Franco fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Tsuikiyama.
Tsuikiyama on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Franco feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Tsuikiyama sprawling to the canvas! Tsuikiyama rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Franco finish him?!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tsuikiyama leaves his chin hanging out and Franco seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Tsuikiyama crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Juan David Franco!
After winning the bout, Juan David Franco thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
