Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Crazy Boco (ranked 20337 p4p, 24731 weight class) and Mapple Syrup (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boco's entrance music is Crazy Nights. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 45 - 0, fighting out of London, Crazy Boco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mapple Syrup!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boco displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Syrup.
Syrup dives in for a single leg takedown but Boco sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Syrup closes the distance and clinches.
Boco is looking to take this one to the mat.
Syrup is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Boco throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Syrup blocks it with crossed arms.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Syrup pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Syrup slips under a jab.
Syrup shoots in and drives through. Boco sprawls well.
Crazy Boco has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mapple Syrup.
Syrup lunges at Boco with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Boco's hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Syrup gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Syrup's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Syrup will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Boco throws a big counter combination but Syrup scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Syrup fails with a takedown attempt.
Syrup looks winded!
Boco is looking to clinch.
Boco avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Boco tries to clinch there but Syrup circles away.
Syrup gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Boco counters with a big head kick but Syrup shrugs it off.
Syrup throws a combination that misses
and Boco counters with a stiff right hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fight stays on the outside here - Boco looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Syrup scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Boco manages to work his way to half guard, despite Syrup's best efforts.
Syrup slows the pace down in half guard.

Boco looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Syrup is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Boco tries to roll over but Syrup keeps him under control.
Boco knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Syrup on the ground.
Syrup content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Syrup is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
It looks like Syrup might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Boco trying to control but Syrup postures up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Syrup throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Boco was covering up waiting for the punch and Syrup finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Syrup stays in close to Boco's body and controls the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Boco keeping full guard, as Syrup tries to pass.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mapple Syrup will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Syrup gets a clinch.

Boco is fighting off a takedown attempt but Syrup is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Boco to the mat. Boco regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Syrup is looking to stand up but Boco won't let him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boco escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Syrup gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Syrup wanted to stand there but Boco had control of the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Syrup looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Syrup chips away with some ground and pound.
Syrup pushes down on Boco's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Boco looking for a kimura from the bottom but Syrup passes into side control!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Boco seems a little lost for a moment, as Syrup dominates the positioning.
Syrup cracks Boco with a big right hand but Boco just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Syrup has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Boco!
Syrup manages to capitalize on a mistake by Boco to take his back!
Syrup loading up with punches from the back mount - how long can Boco hold on?
Our spies down at at Cozad MMA Montreal inform us that Syrup has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
A bit of a pause in the action here. Syrup controlling the positon.

You can see the frustration on Boco's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Syrup has the hooks in. Boco is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Syrup is not going to allow Boco to sit and survive in this position.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Boco is trying to remain composed but Syrup is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.
Syrup really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Boco.

Boco is looking to escape here. Oh dear - Syrup has locked on a rear naked choke here! Boco is tapping out! The fight is over!
