Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ronan Frost (ranked 3451 p4p, 3307 weight class) and Seiji Tanikawa (ranked 448 p4p, 426 weight class). Ronan Frost has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ronan Frost!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Seiji Tanikawa!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Taro Takaoka and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frost pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Frost throws a head kick that misses.
Frost ducks under a wild hook from Tanikawa.
Frost shoots in looking for a takedown. Tanikawa tries to sprawl out of it but Frost keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tanikawa manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Tanikawa takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

It looks like Seiji Tanikawa has been cut.
Tanikawa throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Frost sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Tanikawa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Frost moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Frost scores with a decent looking hook.

Frost lands a big head kick that sends Tanikawa tumbling to the mat! Frost takes a step backwards and waves Tanikawa back to his feet - he wants the finish!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Frost tries a head kick but it misses.
Frost jabs Tanikawa right on the nose. Tanikawa blinks but takes it well.

Tanikawa is rocked!
Frost avoids the head kick by Tanikawa.
Tanikawa is looking to slow Frost down with leg kicks.
Tanikawa misses the jab.
Frost takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Tanikawa throws a jab when Frost was well out of range.
No joy there for Tanikawa, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Frost slips under a jab.
Seiji Tanikawa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Frost cracks Tanikawa with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

That has opened up Seiji Tanikawa's cut even more.
Frost tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Frost showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Tanikawa.
Tanikawa blocks a head kick by Frost.
Frost throws a sloppy head kick and Tanikawa moves out of range easily.
Frost pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Frost uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Tanikawa.
Frost's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Frost duly obliges.
Frost uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Tanikawa.
Tanikawa throws a push kick but Frost slaps the foot to one side.
Frost tries a head kick but it misses.
Tanikawa takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tanikawa misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Frost.
We've been told by Frost's head coaches at London MMA Club that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Tanikawa tests Frost's chin there with a solid looking shot.

It looks like Ronan Frost has been cut.
Tanikawa tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Frost throws a body kick that misses.
Frost misses with a few strikes there.
Tanikawa unleashes a big counter combination but Frost bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Frost throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tanikawa's waist but Tanikawa gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Frost off to one side.
Frost throws a lazy head kick
and Tanikawa cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Frost shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tanikawa as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ronan Frost. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Frost is breathing heavily.
Tanikawa bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A head kick misses from Frost.
Tanikawa tries a quick counter leg kick but Frost is wise to it.

Tanikawa feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Frost sprawling to the canvas! Frost rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Tanikawa finish him?!

Frost is rocked!
Tanikawa closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Frost! Tanikawa dives in looking to finish! Frost is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Seiji Tanikawa!
