PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sss Sss (ranked 24930 p4p, 6759 weight class) and Sss Sss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sss Sss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sss Sss!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fighter B is defended easily by Fighter A.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Fighter B gets a double leg takedown into Fighter A's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fighter B showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Fighter B prevents Fighter A from getting back to his feet.
Fighter B in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Fighter B is standing up over Fighter A. Fighter A looks to escape but Fighter B dives into side control.
Fighter B is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Fighter B prevents Fighter A from escaping the position.
Fighter B controls the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Fighter B shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Fighter A napping and manages to drive through into side control!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fighter B just content to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
It looks like Fighter B might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Fighter B working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Fighter B content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Fighter B has a takedown stuffed.
Fighter A is looking to counter with head kicks.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Sss Sss dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

No luck for Fighter A with that takedown attempt.
As Fighter A backs off Fighter B throws a huge counter combo but Fighter A manages to avoid it all.

Fighter B gets a takedown into half guard.
Fighter A is looking to get back to is feet but Fighter B passes into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fighter A is trying to get back to his feet.
Fighter B controlling from side mount.
Fighter A pushes Fighter B away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Fighter B gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Fighter B happy to just control the position for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Fighter B goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Fighter A has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Fighter B but great work by Fighter A.
Fighter B is looking to regain half guard here but Fighter A keeps moving and retains side control.
Fighter B keeps Fighter A under control for a moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fighter A tries to stand but Fighter B is controlling his head.
Fighter B struggling a bit here.
Fighter A is looking to take a break and control but Fighter B is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Fighter B wants to control but Fighter A postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fighter A controls the position from side control.
Fighter B defending against the ground and pound.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Fighter B shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sss Sss will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Fighter B throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Fighter A tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Fighter B is in Fighter A's guard.

Fighter A wriggles free and stands up.

Fighter B decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Fighter A keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Fighter B wants to stand up but Fighter A manages to regain full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fighter B looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fighter A wants to stand and escape but Fighter B is having none of it.
Fighter A being controlled here, momentarily.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Fighter B shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fighter A sprawls well. Fighter A wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fighter B gets slowly back to his feet.
Fighter A throws a quick counter kick to the body but Fighter B avoids it.
Fighter A is trying hard to land a takedown here. Fighter B sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Despite the aggression on Fighter B's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Fighter B has a takedown stuffed.
It appears Fighter A was looking to counter with a kick there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Fighter B drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Fighter B's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Fighter A wants to stand but Fighter B is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fighter B is stalling in the full guard.
Fighter A is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Fighter B is standing up over Fighter A. Fighter A looks to escape but Fighter B dives into side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Sss Sss.
I think Fighter B has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
