Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Terence Erenberg! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kona Uluwehi! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Russell Pearce and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Uluwehi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Uluwehi gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Uluwehi closes the distance and lands a one-two. Uluwehi throws a combination that misses and Erenberg decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Uluwehi's guard. Uluwehi wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Erenberg manages to pass to side control. Erenberg trying to control the action but Uluwehi is working from the bottom. Erenberg is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Uluwehi has managed to free his arm - good work. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Uluwehi taking some punishment here, with Erenberg in his half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Still in half guard, Erenberg seems content to control. Uluwehi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Erenberg. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Uluwehi wants to get back to his feet.
Erenberg looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Uluwehi with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Erenberg is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Uluwehi! Erenberg controlling his opponent. Uluwehi taking shots to the head. Erenberg unloading with bombs! Erenberg working away from the top, dropping strikes. Uluwehi has left one of his arms exposed and Erenberg doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Uluwehi screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Terence Erenberg! Our winner, Terence Erenberg, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
