Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Niles Standish!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Frankie Venegas !
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Winston Alpacca and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Standish is looking to clinch but Venegas is avoiding it.
Venegas manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Standish on his heels. He'll look to pass Standish's guard now, I'm sure.
Standish escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Venegas gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Venegas accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Standish is trying to control the position but Venegas postures up.
Venegas trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Venegas missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Venegas must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Venegas with a flurry of punches that miss.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Standish managing to control the position.
Standish looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Venegas landing with the ground and pound.

Venegas throwing strikes but missing.
Standish is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Venegas trying to control but Standish is working from the bottom.
Venegas is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Venegas slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Venegas trying to control but Standish is working from the bottom.
Standish is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Venegas is aware though and is defending well.
Venegas got a little sloppy there for a moment and Standish has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Venegas has managed to get both his arms back between Standish's legs - danger averted.
Venegas not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Venegas wants to control from the top but Standish keeps moving.
Venegas is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Standish is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Standish has escaped and now he's on top!

Venegas has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Standish can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Standish definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Standish looking to sit in guard and control but Venegas gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Venegas looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Venegas trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Standish manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Venegas is trying to keep Standish in close.
Standish slips nicely into half guard.
Standish seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Venegas is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
