The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Moncey shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Vippus moves into the clinch.
De Moncey lands with a left to the head.
De Moncey scores with a knee to the head.
Vippus is trying to trip De Moncey. He has hold of a leg but De Moncey is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Vippus persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
De Moncey is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Vippus has his hands clasped together but De Moncey extends and breaks Vippus's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by De Moncey.
