Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paramat Pongsak (ranked 5184 p4p, 25290 weight class) and Skafti Brynjarsson (ranked 576 p4p, 701 weight class). Paramat Pongsak has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paramat Pongsak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Skafti Brynjarsson!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brynjarsson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pongsak but Pongsak pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Pongsak went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Brynjarsson tries to keep at a distance but Pongsak has taken the fight into the clinch.
Pongsak connects with a nasty looking knee right to Brynjarsson's face.

Brynjarsson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Pongsak can't fight it off and eventually Brynjarsson manages to take the fight to the floor. Pongsak looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Brynjarsson looking to sit in guard and control but Pongsak gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Pongsak is stalling in the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pongsak wants to get up but he can't break Brynjarsson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Pongsak's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pongsak would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Pongsak is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Brynjarsson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pongsak gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Pongsak controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Pongsak tries to stand but Brynjarsson is controlling from the bottom.
Pongsak really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Brynjarsson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Pongsak chips away with some ground and pound.

Pongsak avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Pongsak is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Brynjarsson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pongsak gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Pongsak has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Pongsak would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Pongsak slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Brynjarsson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Pongsak has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Brynjarsson is proving hard to escape from.

Brynjarsson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pongsak defends it easily.
Brynjarsson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Brynjarsson is stalling here. Pongsak is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Brynjarsson seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Pongsak has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Brynjarsson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Pongsak's best efforts.

Brynjarsson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pongsak pulls his head out easily.
Pongsak is thwarting Brynjarsson's attempts to control the position.

Pongsak trying to control the pace.
Pongsak seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Brynjarsson trying to control but Pongsak postures up.
Pongsak is just content to waste time from the top position. Brynjarsson takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Pongsak postures up.
Pongsak knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brynjarsson on the ground.
Pongsak lands a couple of digs.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Pongsak got a little sloppy there for a moment and Brynjarsson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pongsak has managed to get both his arms back between Brynjarsson's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Brynjarsson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Pongsak doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Brynjarsson.
Pongsak is refusing to be controlled, as Brynjarsson sits in half guard.

Brynjarsson is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Pongsak is trying to escape and Brynjarsson transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Pongsak is forced to tap! Nice work there by Brynjarsson! Very nice indeed!
