Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Julio Valeron Huhrera (ranked 2422 p4p, 3230 weight class) and Caua Takeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takeda comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Oba, La Vem Ela kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Julio Valeron Huhrera has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 22 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Julio Valeron Huhrera !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Caua Takeda!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Huhrera changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Takeda looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Takeda felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Huhrera in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Takeda is looking to regain half guard here but Huhrera keeps moving and retains side control.

Huhrera seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Takeda for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Huhrera 's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

We've been hearing good reports from Huhrera 's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Takeda tries to buck Huhrera off but Huhrera is having none of it.

Takeda gets caught napping as Huhrera dives in and scores a takedown. Takeda manages to retain guard.

Takeda can't keep his opponent in guard - Huhrera advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Huhrera is taking a breather. Takeda says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Takeda wants to improve his position but Huhrera is controlling well.
Takeda tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Huhrera has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Takeda has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Huhrera can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Huhrera avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Takeda tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Huhrera drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Takeda's face as Huhrera controls the position.
Huhrera is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Takeda can do to turn this around?
Huhrera has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Huhrera has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Takeda is working away from the top position though.
