Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Kougar (ranked 4604 p4p, 4753 weight class) and Lance Whyte (ranked 0 p4p, 164 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyson Kougar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lance Whyte! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Reed Andrews and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kougar is looking to clinch but Whyte is avoiding it.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kougar. Whyte throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Whyte throws a sloppy head kick and Kougar moves out of range easily. Kougar feinted with a counter takedown. Whyte looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kougar is fending him off so far but Whyte persists. Nope, Kougar circles away and we're back to standing. Kougar chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Kougar shoots in and bounces Whyte off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Kougar stands up from Whyte's guard - Kougar perhaps looking for a knockout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kougar closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kougar lands in his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kougar thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Kougar with a flurry of punches that miss. Whyte wants to sweep but no luck. Kougar will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Kougar controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Whyte has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kougar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Whyte avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Kougar is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Whyte wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Kougar is now in half guard. Whyte is refusing to be controlled, as Kougar sits in half guard. Still in half guard, Kougar seems content to control. Kougar seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Whyte wants to control but Kougar is keeping busy and won't allow it. Whyte is staying active underneath Kougar, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Whyte is trying to stand back up but Kougar is controlling him
Whyte wants to improve his position but Kougar is controlling well.
Kougar decides to return to a standing position. Kougar throws a one two combo.
Kougar fails with a takedown attempt. Kougar misses with a takedown attempt and Whyte counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyson Kougar. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Whyte moves out of range of the body kick from Kougar.
Kougar tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Kougar dives in for a single leg takedown but Whyte sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Whyte wants to counter the offense by Kougar and move into the clinch position. Whyte is trying to force a seperation but Kougar has the dominant position. Whyte is trying to break the clinch but Kougar is controlling him. Kougar goes for a takedown attempt but Whyte pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Kougar is breathing heavily. Kougar has a takedown stuffed. Kougar is looking to take this fight into the clinch. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kougar tries to clinch there but Whyte circles away.
Whyte misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Tyson Kougar dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Whyte fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. As Whyte tries to get set, Kougar tries to push him back and clinch up but Whyte manages to avoid the attempt. Whyte closes the distance and clinches. Kougar is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Whyte to keep the fight standing. The referee calls for Kougar to work.
Whyte is working for takedown but Kougar is calmly controlling the position for now. Kougar jumps guard and drags Whyte to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tyson Kougar overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Whyte working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kougar. Whyte is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Kougar gets to his feet - Whyte follows without any prompting. Nice sprawl there from Kougar as Whyte shoots in. Whyte is trying to break the clinch but Kougar has him pressed against the cage.

Kougar shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Whyte pushes Kougar off and gets back to his feet. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kougar tries for a takedown but Whyte sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Whyte shoots in for a takedown but Kougar shows good takedown defense. Kougar tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Whyte manages to circle out of the way. Kougar slaps away a takedown attempt from Whyte, before circling back to the center of the mat. Kougar tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Whyte manages to circle out of the way. Whyte fails with a takedown attempt. Whyte tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kougar manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Kougar lands with a good body shot. Kougar shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Whyte wants to counter the offense by Kougar and move into the clinch position. Tyson Kougar is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Whyte swinging wildly here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kougar instigates a clinch. Kougar is looking to take this one to the mat. Kougar lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Kougar has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Whyte after a bit of a struggle. Kougar breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kougar throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Kougar tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Whyte paws at him with a jab and circles away. Whyte darts in looking for a takedown but Kougar gets double underhooks and turns Whyte into the cage. Kougar tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Whyte defends well and Kougar ends up having to push Whyte into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Whyte prevents a takedown attempt there.
Kougar is trying to break the clinch but Whyte has him pressed against the cage. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Tyson Kougar dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round! Whyte fails with a takedown attempt. Whyte throws a head kick but Kougar moves out of range.

Whyte shoots in for a takedown but Kougar shows good takedown defense. Kougar appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Whyte takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Whyte tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kougar sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Whyte somewhat. Tyson Kougar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lance Whyte.
That's one minute gone in the round. Whyte shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kougar but Kougar pushes him off and we're back to square one. Kougar has closed the distance and engaged Whyte in a clinch.
Kougar is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Kougar manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Kougar lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Whyte wants to stand and escape but Kougar is having none of it. Kougar controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kougar trying to control the position from guard on top but Whyte is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Whyte is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kougar postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Kougar trying to control but Whyte is working from the bottom. Whyte wants to control the position but Kougar says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Kougar with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Whyte is refusing to be controlled, as Kougar sits in half guard. Whyte has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kougar is working away from the top position though.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kougar tries to clinch but Whyte is having none of it. Kougar thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Whyte if he has to take too many more of those.
Kougar stuffs the takedown attempt from Whyte. Whyte gets slowly back to his feet. Kougar shoots in for a takedown but Whyte shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Kougar will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Tyson Kougar is winning the standup battle so far. Kougar doesn't manage to clinch there - Whyte circles away.
Whyte defending well as Kougar loads up on a big left hand. Whyte goes for a double leg but Kougar avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kougar continues to drive forward. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kougar tries a head kick but it misses.
Kougar closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Tyson Kougar showed his dominance in that final round. Well Kougar has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
