Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Caio Victor (ranked 968 p4p, 939 weight class) and Rasmus Reedtz (ranked 129 p4p, 123 weight class). Rasmus Reedtz has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Caio Victor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rasmus Reedtz!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Richard Clark and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reedtz looks to land a right hand but Victor moved out of range.
Reedtz throws a lazy body kick

and Victor counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Victor uses his free foot to push down on Reedtz's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Reedtz.
Reedtz is controlling an arm, preventing Victor from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Reedtz is looking to get to half guard.
Reedtz is still trying to improve position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Victor wants to take Reedtz's back but he can't do it this time.

Victor is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Reedtz is surviving well by controlling Victor's body position as best he can.
Reedtz is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Reedtz regains half guard.
Reedtz is trying to maintain the position but Victor is very close to passing his half guard.

Reedtz is defending against the submission attempts here by Victor.

Victor is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Reedtz is just riding it out for now. Victor eventually gives up the hold.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reedtz tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Victor has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Reedtz manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Victor moves nicely into side control.

Reedtz tries to improve position but can't.

Victor is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Reedtz is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Reedtz tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Victor wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Reedtz looking for a sweep but Victor has passed into full mount! Oh no!

Victor is looking to work his way around to Reedtz's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Reedtz sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Victor tries to pass the half guard into mount. Reedtz knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Reedtz works his way to full guard. Good work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Reedtz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Reedtz looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Victor puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Reedtz closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Victor to the mat! Victor manages to get full guard.
Victor is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Victor is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Reedtz can do to turn this around?

Reedtz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Victor has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Reedtz has managed to get both his arms back between Victor's legs - danger averted.

Reedtz looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Victor with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Victor is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Reedtz is working for a kimura but Victor is defending it quite comfortably.
Victor is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Soul Supremacy Rio, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Reedtz is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Reedtz takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Reedtz connects with a nice short shot to Victor's temple.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Reedtz working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Reedtz stalling away here and it's allowed Victor to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rasmus Reedtz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Victor has his takedown stuffed
letting Reedtz counter with a right hand.
Reedtz tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Victor was well out of range. Poor timing from Reedtz.
Reedtz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Victor manages to avoid it.
Victor takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Victor checks a leg kick.
Reedtz throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Reedtz bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Victor's head backwards.

Reedtz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Victor's guard.
Victor bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Reedtz's guard.

Reedtz manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Victor manages to get himself to full guard.


Victor escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Reedtz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Reedtz makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Reedtz accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Reedtz distracts Victor with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Reedtz lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Reedtz looking to sit in guard and control but Victor gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Reedtz's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Rasmus Reedtz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Reedtz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
