Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike McGuire (ranked 199 p4p, 554 weight class) and Kollaa River (ranked 29 p4p, 85 weight class). McGuire comes to the cage accompanied by Jekyll And Hyde. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 15 - 1, fighting out of New York, Mike McGuire!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kollaa River!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from River does it's job there.

It looks like Mike McGuire has been cut.
McGuire lands a body shot.
River chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before McGuire can pounce on him.
River lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
McGuire shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
River throws a hook to the side of McGuire's head but McGuire sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
River sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
McGuire darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
McGuire pulls out of a head kick attempt.
River cracks McGuire with an open hand slap.
River lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
This has been an exciting period of action!
River throws a good cross that connects.
McGuire doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Nice body punch from River.

River drops his shoulder and cracks McGuire with a huge uppercut! McGuire goes down! Can River finish him?

McGuire is rocked!
River pushes down on McGuire's leg and manages to get into half guard.
River is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

River looking for a submission but McGuire manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.

River trying to control the position from guard on top but McGuire is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
River trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but McGuire manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

River has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. McGuire is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for River.

River tries to buck McGuire off but McGuire is having none of it.
A control attempt from River but he's now mounted!
McGuire avoids the attempt from River to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
River is in all sorts of trouble here.
River wants to control but McGuire is having none of it.

McGuire gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

River takes one on the chin but seems OK.
McGuire scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Good exchange - River coming out on top.

Mike McGuire's cut is getting worse.
River takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Mike McGuire is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
McGuire uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from River.
River takes one on the button.
Mike McGuire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McGuire throws a body punch but River moves out of range.
River now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
A jab from River finds it's way through McGuire's defenses.
A low kick lands for McGuire.
McGuire throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
McGuire looks to throw the jab but River is out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
River is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
McGuire connects with a body shot that sends River's belly button to the back.
River misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from McGuire.

McGuire misses with an uppercut
and McGuire takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Mike McGuire's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
McGuire misses with a body kick.

River throws a lazy right hand but McGuire sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A jab from River misses.
River on the wrong end of a nice jab.
McGuire dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
River moves out of range of the body kick.
River takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
McGuire stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
McGuire misses with a right hand
and River counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
and River counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts McGuire! He's just covering up as River starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
